So it's getting around that time when I end up posting in this thing. Let's call it partially lazyness that I don't post and partially that I always find something else to do. Needless to say, I'm stil firing on pretty much of the same, with me workiing at Best Buy still and preparing for my upcoming final semester. I'll only be taking 12 hours for this semester, with 4 of them being senior design, so it will definitely be an experience. I'm hoping I will be able to completely stay motivated, but last time I took a semester with 12 hours I barely had any work to do at all.

I got to have a nice christmas with Jenny (partially over at her house for the night before, and up until the next wednesday or so at my house). It was nice to just be able to take some time with nothing to do and just spend time together, which we didn't get alot of time to do over the last semester. I'm hoping that this semester I will get a little more time to do that, with the lower hours and all. On the school side of the coin, I did well grade wise this last semester so my gpa is pretty much set to finish out.

Additionally, I've been doing some preparation for the GRE, and I definately need to increase my vocabulary. I'm not worried about the math or analytical writing parts, but the antonym section just makes me overly nervous. Murphey's law tells me that no matter what happens they will choose the words that I don't know. We'll see though.

I need to start writing in this thing more frequently that I have, since I do have it.

Now you can stop bringing up that I haven't posted Jenny. :)

Hi...This isn't Tom...but I'm just updating his journal cause he doesn't take the time to do it! Why, because he is so ass lazy.....

Anyways...if you care, he is still in love with Jenny...and misses her all the time....He works at Best Buy as a computer dork, I mean salesman. Other then that, he does nothing but school and sleep. He is in the progress of building his own computer, and it makes him wet just looking at it. He cut his finger the other day on the case, and cried a lot when he saw the blood! Thats all that is new with him...if you want to know more, just post a comment in his journal, I'm sure he'll tell you since he comments in everyone's journals all the time, but never his own!

Three month real post

Seeing as how I haven't written a real post since March, I thought it might be a good idea too since I had the time. I can't say that there is really much going on, with the exception of being on co-op. Working 8-5 can make the days seem to flow into each other. On the plus side, I've been buying movies on ebay (mainly, Matrix: Revolutions and Kill Bill) for cheap.

The only thing I've been fairly psyched about is finally picking up a new cell phone. My phone is starting to show its age from wear and tear, and I've been waiting for a replacement. Here is the likely candidate. Hopefully I will not run into problems with it once I use the "New Every Two" 100 dollars off from Verizon on the 22nd+.

It's nice to see Jenny the last couple weekends, of course the trip to cincy was pretty fun. It was actually a good length trip (3.5 hours), but thankfully the whole trip was down 71. I also go to see her this last weekend for the 4th, where I stopped by in Toledo on Saturday for fireworks, and back to Parma for Sunday/Monday. All in all, a good couple of weekends. I also had a good fireworks setting off day, as I only almost hurt myself once.

So I did this, but the html code for this thing looks horrendous. There's enough TD tags to drown a donkey. Of course, I have no intention of actually writing my own, since I'm lazy.

In other news, I got my PDA back today(finally), and I got the installation equipment for my new stereo as well. Though I have yet to see any kind of voucher that I was promised, maybe I'll call CCS on Monday to verify, and while I'm on top of that I'll probably call Yark auto also to see what the hell is going on. It's been nearly 3 weeks and I haven't heard a peep from them, I with they'd hurry up and get parts.

So I'm reading through the course sections today to realize that The University of Toledo puts all the good classes that I would want to take in the fall semester. Which in fact bones me in the spring semester. I only have two semesters left to take, and it's shaping up to be a situation where I have no more classes left to take during the spring semester if I take 18 hours of classes.

However, I don't want to do that, since I'll be taking data comm, electronics 2, PLC, and either comp graphics or control system design. But it really comes down to which annoying elective would I want to take in the spring. Since both of the classes I want to take will not be offered. I could grit my teeth and take Database Systems. Or I could take VLSI and double dip between departements. But I don't really want to do that, since I'll have even less classes to take then. I don't really know what I should do particularly, but whatever it is I have to take at least one class in the spring.

So I finally got around to sending my PDA in for repairs this Friday. The box came in Monday of last week and I was able to back up everything and assemble the box on Thursday, which I then sent out on Friday. It should be arriving today, so they can finally get to work on it.

Also, much to my delight, last week (probably Tuesday overnight) someone decided they wanted to break into my car. They ripped all around the lock and must have known what they were doing. They ripped the whole front dash section off and took the stereo and my speedometer light dial(jerks). They went through the glove compartment and ripped it all out, but since I have nothing in there except bank receipts there isn't much he could use. They didn't even bother going through the trunk, which they would have probably stolen my trombone if they had.

I got an estimate on the damages on Friday as well, and gave all the extra information to my insurance company. I also gave all the stereo information to my insurance company, so we'll see how much they cover on that. Though the stereo was a little over 2 years old, so we'll just have to see.

And over the last few weeks Kingdom of Loathing has been my web game of choice. The game is downright hilarious, and is also very fun to play.

So the Sony saga continues

Not long after I bothered to register my PDA with Sony they sent me a happy e-mail entitled: "CLIE Handheld Model PEG-TJ35 LCD Backlight Issue". Joy! As I continued to read they elaborated that they shipped the initial production of the PDAs with a susceptibility to LCD backlight failure. So I have to deal with Sony support once again to fix something with them, hopefully they'll be better on this then with the camera. On top of that, they link to a page to fill out a form about it, and they e-mail me back saying I should call the support line.

How much I love to sit on the phone for half an hour waiting for someone to talk to me, I'm hesitant to be put through it because of a shipped issue. However, to my actual amazement they sent me another e-mail with a Box order request for my PDA, so I should be getting a box to send it in. Thankfully, since I whored up the real one to get the UPC off of it. But now the trick is, when will they actually send this mystical box. Sony is definitely getting to me with their tomfoolery

I'm still considering what game to get for Xmas, even though it's notably well past the date(This if of course for gift card use). I'm still strongly deciding between Mario Kart and F-zero gx. Though I'll probably just get Mario Kart since I'm a wuss, and I don't want to memorize 30 or so tracks and get my butt kicked every time I play.

On a hilarious game note, I've been playing the Something Awful game rom of Final Fantasy 3. They basically modded the actual rom of it to have hilarious text and changed characters and plot. It's actually pretty funny, and it gives a new logic to the game since all the characters attacks have been switched around. Though I must warn, it's not for the faint of heart.

It's over....It's over.....did I mention that it's over? The semester has finally come to a close, now I can finally rest. The whole semester had its ups and downs, more downs then ups due to Microsystems Design. That is the first and last course that I will take with Dr. Serpen, I'd rather not try my luck again by taking him with the possibility of the same workload that I had to deal with in that class.

On a plus note, with the holidays rolling around, I now have an opportunity to get people gifts for Xmas. Yesterday was my main day for it, but I'm going to go tonight as well to get my last minute ones. I just with that Best Buy would ship faster so I can wrap the stuff I need to, jerks. I also plan to get a little more acquainted with a little friend I like to call the Gamecube. I've been keeping myself from playing it to work on schoolwork, but now I need to make up for lost time.

With that thought in mind, I'm trying to decide which game to actually purchase. I have heard that Prince of Persia is amazing, basically a must buy. But I'm torn on wether or not I should get a console specific game like F-zero or Double Dash instead. I would just love to listen to IGN unconditionally, but they also catch the stupid from time to time. I can't believe how long I've been letting this thing degrade, that's what I get I suppose for taking Microsystems.

I also last night decided on a whim (read: my gf wanted to rent it) to rent the Simpsons: Hit and Run. I must admit, I expected very little from this game, being that the box alone made me immediately think "this game sucks." I was pleasantly surprised by the random humor that the game has, as well as the many references to the show. I even like the driving setup, though it does become frustrating when cars cut you off and then always get in your way in the hard missions. Not to mention the invisible walls on some objects that they don't want you to jump on, and some clipping through buildings. The game had some very good promise, though it seems a lot of the setbacks of laziness by the programmers definitely shows through more so.
